Belarus is one of the countries which basically denied the severity of the WHO declared worldwide pandemic by not closing its borders. Not only that, but the country also initiated a visa-free campaign for multiple countries this summer. Lukashenko also denied the financial help of USD 940 million offered to the country by the IMF. The “fast financing,” the Belarusian president claims, has been offered with the condition that the country is put in full lock-down with heavy movement restrictions similar to those initially imposed to Italy. However, now Belarus requires all arriving travelers to present a negative covid -19 PCR test result certificate issued at most 48 hours prior to entry in the country. In addition, travelers originating from 100 countries are a subject to a 14-day quarantine.
